Construction

Construction GRP
Underwater profile Long keel
Finish Gelcoat finish

The construction on the Hans Christian can only be described as "heavily built" . The hull and deck consist of up to 24 layers of 24 oz. of woven roving and 1.5 oz. mat, resulting in a vessel that can handle the heavy seas that it was designed for.

This is not your standard Long Keel design. It is referred to as a "Performance Keel. Meaning that is not full length or sometimes called a "Cut Away Keel" with a skeg-hung rudder.

Bulkheads and stringers are overlaid to the hull and the deck is fully bonded to the hull.
The two fuel tanks are black iron with a total capacity of 110 gallons. The two water tanks are Stainless Steel with a total capacity of 150 gallons. The holding tank is Roto-molded Polyethylene with a capacity of 6 gallons.

The all teak interior adds to quality built into this design. There is also the added value from all the custom designed teak work, such as curved door tops and ornate woodwork through out.

Broker's Comments

The Hans Christian 43 Cutter Rig is a well-known off shore cruising boat. With the double head rig it is an easy boat to sail in heavy weather. Deck layout, smaller cockpit and solid construction along with an interior that is easy to move about in also make the design very safe. Storage is always an important consideration on cruising boats, and this boat has a lot of easily accessible space.

With two large double berths it is comfortable for two couples with plenty of privacy.

It would also be a great liveaboard here in the Puget Sound.

Some the maintenance items completed recently are as follows:
- Exterior brightwork was sanded down to fresh wood and re-varnished.
- The topsides were repainted as well as the cabin house, cockpit well, and inside the bulwarks.
- Fuel tanks were cleaned and engine raw water pump replaced after the engine was inspected.
-All zincs were replaced , throughhulls serviced and bottom painted.
- New sail covers were purchased and all running rigging was replaced.
- All chain plates were checked and resealed where needed.

Please take a close look at this quality vessel.
