META built these boats supported by big wheels at the bow and stern, so the hull was slowly rotated during construction, making it convenient to work on. Steel hull plating is 4 mm – 6 mm thick (thinner above water line) welded clinker (overlap) style rolled steel with 8mm x 6 cm frames spaced 46 cm apart. All ballast is in the lifting keel (centerboard). The centerboard trunk goes all the way to the deck (it is covered by a piece of plywood when the keel is down.
The keel has 4.5 tons of ballast and is also a 700 litre fuel tank. The schooner rig enables easy handling of sails in a variety of conditions witth a small crew offering optimum safety at sea.
Due to the solid steel construction with hull thickness of 8 mm or more under water, and through the dense arrangement of stringers and
frames, it is particularly suitable for use in Arctic and Antarctic waters and built for all waters of this planet.
This has been proven by other vessels of this type a number of them carrying out charters and expeditions even in winters in north and south polar
regions. Just as an example Issuma (a Damien II) Has a phenomenal range with a Daytank under cockpit holds 70 litres of fuel. Keel fuel storage tank holds 700 litres fuel. Other internal fuel tanks hold a total of 200 litres fuel. In addition, 550 litres of fuel are carried in 11 "jerry jugs (50 litres each)", which are stored in purpose-built boxes belowdeck. This gives a theoretical range under power of about 1500 miles. A serious blue water cruising yacht.

Broker's Comments

These boat details are subject to contract.
This is an amazing vessel and I hope people can appreciate from the write up about this sailing yacht how capable she is. Unfortunately her owner has been bereaved and this is why the exterior of the vessel does not look as good as one would wish. I have presented the specification to the best of my ability but have had to research a lot of the information due to the circumstances that have led to this wonderful yacht being listed.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
