The Boatshedmedway yacht brokerage is based on the River Medway in Kent. Boatshedmedway is part of the largest yacht brokerage in the world with 70 Boatsheds (covering Uk, USA, Europe and Australia) and over 2500 boats for sale. Medway is a very popular boating area with a wide range of different boats. There is a person for every boat and a boat for every person! Boatshed has grown and from the Medway area we can access customers throughout the United Kingdom and from Overseas. With the strong Euro, Boatshedmedway has seen an increase in enquiries from European customers. Boatshedmedway is well located for these customers. We are 45 minutes from the channel tunnel and the airports at Stanstead, Gatwick, Luton and Heathrow are close. Boatshedmedway is more than happy to give advice and assistance on travel arrangements. I have some great boats offering fantastic value for money at the moment so hopefully you may be my next valued customer! The Christmas Holiday is behind and there is the prospect of a new season ahead. It may be chilly and there have been a few 'cold snaps' but you may already (like me) be thinking of warmer months to come. Lets face the facts... the news hasn't been good. Economic downturn ...spin .... spin. Well I can honestly say that my phone and inbox have not stopped. January has seen the most interest since I opened for business. Yes prices have adjusted but there are buyers and sellers and there are some great opportunities. Correctly priced boats will sell and there are some excellent boats coming onto the market. So if you are holding out then dont do it for too long or you will miss out on the best boats! Boatshed increases its coverage all the time with new offices and agents joining in recent times. Every day I see new customers logging onto the computer and each one represents an opportunity. I believe that at any given time if a person is looking for a certain type of boat then they will find it via Boatshedmedway wherever they are in the world. Every boat does have a story and I am delighted when I find the right person for the right boat.
Well what a start to the year. Sell, sell, sell..... yes I am not exaggerating. However it is all about price. Owners who are moving with the market are getting offers and sales. Those who are chasing the market down are losing out. It does of course depend on the type of boat you have. Whilst we are lacking the 20 and early 30 year old first time purchasers, we have gained a healthy European market. Also the 50 plus age range are fed up with their money not gaining much interest in their bank account so they are opting to spend on boats and their leisure time. If your fit and want fun when you can then do it!! In recent times Boatshedmedway has seen an increase in interest for sailing boats. I have been delighted to find new owners for a Contessa, Snapdragon, Hanse, Jeanneau Sun Odysee, Sadler 26, and a Motorsailer. Interest in power craft is frenzied at the moment as long as the price is right. A lot of enquiries are from abroad (especially Germany) and with the promise of a new season fast approaching, there are still lots of opportunities.
