The Contessa 26 is another yacht which is part of British yachting history. Over 350 were built up until production finished in the UK in 1977/8. As a David Sadler design these are of course very pretty looking yachts and its testimony to the design and build for there to be so many still afloat today.

The Contessa 26 is a true classic from the mid sixties, born of a collaboration between Jeremy Rogers and David Sadler. It is a GRP development of the wooden Nordic Folk Boat. Folk boats and their derivatives are unequaled in their ability to cross oceans for a craft of such diminutive proportions. Safe, sea-kindly yet easily handled they make a fine first yacht for coastal cruising and more. This example has been recently subject to a major renovation and now in good order lying ashore in the Medway. A very good 2015 survey is available. The hull has been professionally resprayed as well as a new exhaust system, fuel lines, water tank & new upholstery, the brightwork also looks fantastic as you will see from the photos. a great boat at a very good price.
